Mara Anghel is the founder lawyer, member of the Romanian Bar Association, registered with the Bucharest Bar and admitted to plead at the Supreme Court of Justice.
Born in 1963, she got a Degree in Civil Law in 1986, at the Law School of the University of Bucharest.
Mara Anghel attended and/or presented reports at training courses, workshops, as well as at national and international conferences, on various issues, such as Public Management, Development of the Romanian SMEs, Consumer Protection and Product Liability, Copyright Law, Franchising, Leasing, International Commercial Arbitration, etc. organized by various governmental or non-governmental organizations and international institutions, such as the School of Government - Harvard University, Centre de Droit de la Consommation, Catholic University of Louvain-La-Neuve, Belgium, EBRD, U.K. Government - "Citizen's Charter", American Bar Association, etc.
She is a co-author of the Consumer Protection in Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania and Romania, a volume published in 1994 by the Centre de Droit de la Consommation-Belgium, with the financial assistance of the Commission of the European Union.
Mara Anghel's expertise covers a wide variety of legal areas. Her professional experience was built in top management positions and assignments such as: legal adviser and member of the Council Board of several state owned and private companies as well as public institutions (gaining experience in company, business and labor law, as well as in commercial and labor litigations, etc.), Governmental expert for the relationship between non-governmental organizations and governmental institutions, head of the Legislation Department of the State Consumer Protection Office, expert of an international joint team working in Belgium, at the Centre de Droit de la Consommation on PHARE Programme (CICPP) on E.U. consumer protection law and product liability, consultant to World Bank (project related to the privatisation of the state farms, project related to the design of the IT-based system for managing and tracking the policy process by the Central Government), consultant to "Price Waterhouse", etc. and participation at PHARE Programmes, etc.
Her present fields of practice are the legal consultancy for business, focusing on company and corporate law, taxation, commercial contracts, real estate transactions and real estate development, direct investments as well as commercial litigations, including arbitration.
